About This Project

“The Day Richard Branson Dropped By”

In 2011, I had two offices: one in Amsterdam and one in The Hague. The Hague office became the home of Spherium, headquarters of the International Space Transport Association (ISTA), the global trade association for commercial space travel.

On April 8, 2011, Spherium was officially opened by Henk Kool, then acting mayor of The Hague. We welcomed ambassadors, dignitaries, and even the director of the Russian space program.

But the highlight came later that year. On November 14, Sir Richard Branson, my client at the time, and the man behind Virgin Galactic – visited Spherium as my personal guest. Together we hosted an exclusive lunch with future space travelers, people preparing to make history as some of the very first private individuals to leave Earth.

Watching Branson walk into my office in The Hague, and seeing the excitement on the faces of those would-be astronauts, I felt the unique blend of pride and humility that comes with standing at the edge of history. It was a reminder that my work in PR wasn’t just about communication, it was about helping shape the moments where the future announces itself.
